Messages and Announcements

Below are the recent messages and announcements:

NSC members,

Quick reminder that the annual Fall BBQ party will be held on Saturday, September 12th at the Beaver Flow pavilion. Food and drinks will be served starting around noon. We’ll be doing a ribeye steak and chicken roast with corn on the cob this year. Members are encouraged to bring a side dish.

The gate locks will be changed on Sunday, September 13th around noon. The new gate combination letters were just mailed out, so you should be receiving them soon.

The annual NSC Fall Raffle also kicks off on the first of September. Good luck to everyone who purchased tickets, and thank you for supporting the Club.

For our Club hunters, we will be raffling off a small number of Eastwood doe tags again this year once they are received. If you’re interested in putting your name in the hat for a doe tag, please text me directly at (518) 527-7579 or email at jay.caponera@gmail.com. Harvesting doe deer is still prohibited on Club property unless you’ve won a tag.

I hope to see you all at the BBQ!

Jay

Good news — the mud locks have been removed from both the north and south gates.

Roads are still a little soft past the Beaver Flow, so there will be no vehicle traffic past the pavilion for another week or so.

Please also note that the ATV trails will remain closed until June 1.

Thanks for your patience as things continue to dry out.

UPDATE FROM 3/15/26

Club members – Bruce will be putting the mud lock on the south side gate this afternoon, but ATV access will still be allowed through the side gate if road conditions are firm enough. Camps can still be accessed on the Wards Mill side but the road will remain blocked at the inner gate until all roads are reopened. Trout season opens in 2 weeks!

3/8/26

Hi everyone,

With the warm temperatures moving into the ADKs, our club roads will be soft before long. If you need to get a snowmobile or trailer out, please plan to do so by this coming weekend (3/15). We expect to put the mud locks on shortly after.

Thanks for staying ahead of it. Spring is on the way.

Mud Locks:
LandVest foresters will be placing and removing mud locks on gates during the following periods as listed below based on the county where your club license area is located:
Fulton, Saratoga & Washington
On: between March 2nd and March 16th
Off: between April 17th to May 1st
Essex, Hamilton & Warren
On: between March 16th to April 1st
Off: between May 1st to May 15th.
If conditions warrant, we will have mud locks off all gates before the opening day of turkey season.
Before and after mud lock installation, it is critical for members to use sound judgement. Thawing can occur suddenly, and frost pockets can exist long after roads appear to be dried out (and mud locks removed).  It is all club members’ responsibility to protect the road system.  This will mean that in some instances members will not be able to visit camp as planned, turn around due to road conditions, and/or use ATV or other means to access Northway Forests’ property. Your diligence, respect, and consideration are greatly appreciated and expected.
Clubs who have installed ATV gates will be permitted to use roads through mud season, however, the above guidelines apply at all times for all users.
